Random Comedy
I've been watching a lot of Frankie Boyle (from Mock The Week, mostly), and thought that some of my librarian friends might find this vaguely amusing. For those who don't watch it, Frankie Boyle is a good example of the non-PC comedy. He likes to offend *everyone*, in a cheerful, hands in pockets way.
"The Scottish National Library banned the Saltire flag for being racist. There are racist librarians? Knitting a cardigan with a swastika in it must be a nightmare. I’d love to see them march. ‘What do we want? Sssshh!’"
Although the bits out of the shows I liked were (roughly):
"Viagra is crap, isn't it? I mean, it takes half an hour to work. I don't know about you, but I find by that time the woman's already struggled free."
"I was watching the execution of Saddam Hussein on Youtube the other day. As I was watching it, I thought 'Is there *anything* on the internet I don't masturbate to?'"
EDIT: In other news, I have 8,000 words of the next chapter done for Promises and yet I'm probably only about half way through it. My fingers are clearly taken over by porn pixies, that make me write far too much. Curse you, porn pixies! I shall squish you at some point.. just not at the moment... *innocent whistle*
Oh, and I have ordered a spiffing vaguely research-based book recommended by Vic Reeve called "Sodomy and the Pirate Tradition". It'll be a novel thing to read whilst at the mother in law's house.
